Simulation of Flow-Induced Aeroacoustic Noise
In this tutorial, we provide guidelines for modeling and simulation of Aeroacoustic Noise induced by 2D turbulent flow across a circular cylinder. For this aim, we use flow-induced (aeroacoustic) noise large eddy simulation (LES) to compute aeroacoustic noise. In addition, we will become familiar with the use of the Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings acoustics tool on a 2D case.

Problem Description for Aeroacoustic Noise modeling
Here we model a turbulent air flow over a 2D circular cylinder with the diameter of 1.9 cm. The free stream velocity is 69.2m/s and the Reynolds number based on the diameter is 90,000.
We export the sound sources during the flow calculation. As a result, we are able to recalculate the acoustic signals for different receivers or model parameters. This approach significantly reduces the computational costs.
