Problem Description of Coal Combustion
Here we model a 3D furnace with two annular inlets on the left and a circular outlet on the right. The furnace is symmetrical, therefore it is possible to model only one quarter of it. The dimensions of the inlet and outlet are as follows:
The inner annular inlet has inner and outer radii of 0.055m and 0.067m respectively. The outer annular inlet has inner and outer radii of 0.07m and 0.117m respectively. The outlet radius is 0.425m.
Coal and carrier air come into the combustion chamber from the inner annular region. Then, hot, swirling, secondary air come into the furnace from the outer annular region. After combustion, the products exit at the pressure outlet.
