Project Description

One of the most important parts of gas processing is the separation of carbon dioxide and sulfur. Gases that are derived from petroleum sources mainly contain varying amounts of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide.  The natural gas because of the bad smell of sulfur is called sour gas. The gas without hydrogen sulfate (sulfur compounds) and carbon dioxide is called Sweet Gas. Actions that remove sulfur compounds from the gas are called gas sweetening. Sour gas contains combination of sulfur that must be removed, because it makes refined products undesirable and may harm to the systems. Then sulfur would be used in the industry. Using CFD simulation we can find the most efficient ways and examine innovative mathematical models to remove sulfur and carbon dioxide from naturel gas. Some of the methods are: physical and chemical absorption, chemical reactions, and using membrane.
