Dry cooling tower is device used for cooling of the process fluid and keep the temperature at a specific level. Air enters the cooling tower and after absorbing heat, it moves to the air. We can see its application in oil refineries and petrochemical plants for cooling water, and also in air conditioning systems in buildings. In some of the dry cooling towers fans are used for force convection and in some of them heat transfer is done by natural convection. Using CFD simulations we can predict heat transfer rate and the efficiency of cooling tower; therefore, we are able to design better cooling towers.
