Today, two-phase and multiphase flows are increasingly important in many engineering industries, including optimal design and safe execution of operations. Multiphase flows can be seen in biological systems and the nature. Some of the most important uses of this type of stream are as follows:
Power plants: water pressurized nuclear reactors, boiler and evaporator power plants, MHD generators, internal combustion engines, jet engines, solid or liquid propellant rockets, and so on.
Heat transfer systems: heat exchangers, evaporators, condensers, cooling towers, dryers, cooling systems and so on.
Transmission systems: pumps, ejectors, pipelines, oil and gas combinations, and so on.
Environmental control systems: ventilators, coolers, particle collectors, air pollution controllers and so on.
Biological systems: cardiovascular systems, respiratory systems, blood flow and so on.
In this analysis, it has been tried to simulate and analyze the two-phase flow (water , air ) inside a 2D channel using a multiphase model by Ansys Fluent software.
