Mass transfer is defined for various phenomena such as drying, evaporation, condensation, mixing species, absorption and distillation. This field has much application in chemical engineering and mechanical engineering problems. ANSYS Fluent is capable to model all type of mass transfer and for each one you should use various model in ANSYS fluent. For instance for modeling diffusion of gas and emission into the parking room we use species transport model by using Fick’s low model. In this case, we use this model without activating any chemical reaction. For modeling evaporation and condensation, we can use VOF or mixture multiphase flow, depends on problem. For using sedimentation, we use DPM model. We have many experiences in filed if CFD simulation of mass transfer by ANSYS Fluent. In the following, you can see a summary of CFD simulation project related to physical mass transfer.
