The Volume of Fluid (VOF) CFD Training Package (Part-I)
This CFD training package contains eight different products, applying the VOF multiphase model by ANSYS Fluent software. This CFD training package will help get familiar with professional industrial and academic CFD projects in the VOF multiphase area.
For the multi-phase flow in which the boundary or contact area between two different phases is clear, we should use the VOF model; in fact, in this multiphase model, the different phases do not mix. Free-Surface, laminar flows, jet disintegration phenomena, and movement of large bubbles into the liquid, pool boiling, fluid fall like a waterfall, spillways are some examples of using the VOF model. The VOF method has the advantages of easy realization, low computational complexity, and high accuracy. It also detects the liquids fraction in the grid, not the movement of fluid particles.
There are lots of CFD simulation projects that should apply the Volume of Fluid multiphase flow. The VOF multiphase method is used in simulating of every kind of spillway, Cavitation in every kinds of Pump such as radial flow pumps, Surface Evaporation in a Solar Desalination, Water Wheel or every tidal turbine, Gas-Liquid Separator, every floating vehicle such as Jet Ski, and Sloshing Tank like fuel tanks.
