Transient 1-way FSI Load Mapping using ACT Extension

Transient 1-way FSI Load Mapping using ACT Extension

In this tutorial, we provide guidelines for Solving FSI load mapping Applications Using ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Fluent. we can use FSI application for a variety of problems. In this tutorial, our focus is on post-processing stage. we do not consider the geometry, meshing, and setup phases actually.

Act extension is utilized for facilitating the communication between Fluent and Mechanical. This example brings up a T junction which is in contact with thermal loads due to the mixing of two fluids. Fluids have different temperatures, as well as a fluid pressure. This workshop illustrates how to calculate the stresses in the T junction due to thermal and pressure loads using one-way fluid-structure-interaction.

You will learn how to do the following through this tutorial:

  •          How to download and install the extension files
    •          How to extract and locate them into local directory setup
  •          Coupling the Fluid Flow to transient structural analysis
  •          How to get post-processing results (temperature, pressure,..)
